SYLA to hold an Ethics Conference for Members

The Foundation has agreed to provide funding to SYLA to deliver an Ethics in Practice Conference to its members.

It is proposed to hold the Conference in 2020 and in addition to SYLA members it will be attended by academic experts and experienced practitioners.

The SYLA has a membership of over 2,900 and is presently consulting members on topics to be covered at the conference in order to make the training as practical and helpful as possible.  Professional misconduct, confidentiality, conflict of interest, solicitors behaviour in private and professional capacity, whistleblowing, duties to client and court, vulnerable clients, solicitor well-being and client complaints are just some of the ethical issues that can be covered.
