The Foundation contributed towards the cost of hosting the 10th annual Sir Gerald Gordon Seminar in Criminal Law at The University of Glasgow. The award allowed the event to be hosted free of charge to delegates.
The first Sir Gerald Gordon Seminar was held, with the Foundation’s support, in 2009. Following the success of this event, the decision was taken to establish it as an annual generalist criminal law seminar – the only such event in the UK academic calendar.
The seminar in 2018 marked the tenth anniversary of the event with a public lecture from Lady Scott and it also served as a launch of the first JUSTICE Scotland Working Party Report on “Legal Assistance in the Police Station”.
At the seminar, papers were presented by six speakers on a wide variety of topics.
