The Foundation supported a number of students both at undergraduate level (LLB, DIPLP) and at postgraduate level (LLM, PhD) to enable them to study and research Scots law.
At Masters/PhD level, research topics supported by the Foundation during the year included:-
- “How can access to justice in Scotland meet the needs of our most vulnerable members of society”;
- “The Scottish jury system – an investigation into the issue of whether a more vigorous process of juror selection should be used in criminal trials”;
- “Advanced LLM in Air and Space Law at Leiden University, Netherlands”;
- “LLM at Harvard Law School – ”the injustice of the prison system and exploration of an alternative funding system giving power to local communities, essentially defunding the central prison system over a number of years”.
