The Foundation provided funding to Dr Katarina Trimmings of University of Aberdeen School of Law to conduct empirical research into the problem of surrogacy arrangements and their regulation in Scotland, from the perspective of local judges and legal practitioners.
The funding was utilised to cover research assistance costs and travel costs for the research assistant to conduct the fieldwork, i.e. interviews with judges and legal practitioners with expertise in the area of family law and professional experience/interest in surrogacy.
